PURPOSE

Novus represents a visionary approach to furniture design, offering a system for assembly that prioritizes sustainability and adaptability. This speculative scenario introduces a versatile system utilizing five distinct connecting pieces, enabling the creation of various furniture frames – from low chairs to sofa beds and beyond. Created for well-known Belgian furniture manufacturers Veldeman Bedding and Indera, Novus serves as a forward-thinking proposal for future production methodologies. The innovative design of Novus goes beyond conventional furniture, allowing seamless upgrades tailored to changing needs. Whether accommodating a growing family or adapting to evolving living spaces, Novus ensures that the same piece can be effortlessly transformed.

SUSTAINABILITY

Novus focuses on sustainable and thoughtful furniture design, by using adaptability to extend its lifecycle. The eco-conscious design principles of Novus extend to beyond the end of life of a certain piece of furniture created using the Novus system. Upon reaching the end of its utility, the furniture can be reclaimed by the company, streamlining the sorting of pieces for reuse and recycling of damaged components.
